This is the artwork of a Grade 12 student who graduated from KSS last year. Teagan, a non-Indigenous student, created this image after learning the story of the Four Food Chiefs and the significance of the Okanagan chaptikw "How Food Was Given". Her artwork has also been used on District cards and last year's Harmony Day shirts focusing on the theme of Gratitude. Our district honoured Teagan at the Equity in Action Agreement celebration for embracing and honouring local Indigenous teachings and perspectives. This graphic is a great example of honouring the local territory and the ongoing work on Truth & Reconciliation, embedding Indigenous Worldview and Perspective throughout the education system.
