Principal Performance Appraisal

Dear Parents,
 
As many of you know, this is my second year as Principal at Chief Tomat Elementary.  In accordance with School Board Policy 230R which states, “During the second year of appointment as a vice-principal or principal, an individual shall receive a performance appraisal…,” I will be evaluated in my role as Principal. 
 
The Board requires the Superintendent of Schools to implement a system for the regular evaluation of the performance of Principals and Vice-Principals to:
 
·         Meet the requirements of the School Act with respect to the evaluation of employees not covered by a collective agreement;
·         Improve the quality of educational leadership provided by school principals and vice-principals and, consequently, improve the instructional program in district schools;
·         Recognize and encourage effective leadership;
·         Assist the school principal and vice-principal in assessing his/her own performance;
·         Assist the principal and vice principal to set and pursue professional growth opportunities and specific career objectives;
 

Parents are asked to engage in this process by providing feedback using an online survey.  Expect to take about 10 minutes to complete the survey.  The survey link will be placed on our school website on Monday, February 25th.  The survey will remain online until March 10th.  Please note that if you exit the survey without clicking the “finish” button at the end of the survey your responses will not be saved.
